I was thinking of buying an Electric Scooter to use since my conventional motorbike has blown it's engine and leaked oil all over my back garden.
I live in the UK and I haven't found any off the shelf conversion kits, but wondered if I could use the parts from an electric scooter and convert my bike into an electric bike?
I don't think anyone has tried this, at least that I could find via Google and while it may seem an unusual route to take (as opposed to parts of the shelf) the cost of 2nd hand electric scooters is cheaper than the cost of the parts.

Hi Everyone
I'm new to the forum so I apoligise if this post is in the wrong place.
My question is, if I buy a EV (Scooter/Motorbike) and replace the batteries with better ones of the same voltage but higher ah, is their any downside to this?

Hello everyone! I'm new here with a basic knowledge of electronics and about a half day's worth of reading through as many threads in this forum as possible :) I've been building mobile soundsystems on bicycles for quite some time now, but this is my first foray into an electric motor assist type of setup so I have some very basic questions. I loosely know what I need based on some kits I've seen: motor, controller, throttle, contactor, but I am still a little confused about best part choices for my application.

Can anyone tell me how to unlock the theft lock on a Golden Motor controller. I tried pressing cruise control 5 times while holding the brake. No change.Golden Motor never comunicate. I have a 1000w hub motor in a home made trike. It went well till this.

I've just connected up my CA and wanted to check how the Ah reading works. According to the manual it says it shows how many Ah you've used since the CA was reset.
My battery pack is 16 x 3.2V 30Ah cells = 51.2V 30Ah = 1,536Wh
Does the CA take into account the voltage of the battery pack in working out how many Ah you've used? Do I just make sure the Ah reading on the CA doesn't get to 30?

I have one permanent magnet motor controller but I have both a PB-6 and a hall effect throttle.
Can either throttles be used in the motor controller? Or are some motor controllers compatible to only one of the two?
I think wiring the batteries to the controller and to the motor is simple. It's just the throttle input that I'm not too familiar with.
I'm a bit new to electric vehicles and I'm starting on my first EV project.
Please help

Hi!
I got a PB-6 pot box, and I dont know what to do with these 3 connectors.
The pot box looks like this

Can anybody explain what each connector is for and what it does? And where should this be connected to?
Can the motor controller work even without connecting these 3 connectors/terminals?
Please help
