my bicycle brushed motor have a mistake....

ok when i acelerate the trottle the motor runs slowly.but when i place the motor direct to the battery it works stronger.i check all the connections and i suppouse are well installed.what is the mistake?i need to fix the motor?ok the nut of my rim was short the circuit of the motor.i fix the problem but right now i lost the performance of the motor. the internal parts of the motor burns out? THANKS FOR THE ATTENTION.

If the motor runs stronger from a 12-volt battery then there is nothing wrong with the motor. I would be looking at the controller. If the output of the controller was shorted then it very likely it is bad. I would replace the controller now that you know how to connect it.
