Disabling the ESC's LVC functions?

I'm looking at controllers like the Phoenix HV-85 and HV-110 (http://tinyurl.com/4kyt9q), but they both seem engineered only for LiPo, NiCad or NiMH batteries. I'm planning to use Ping's LiFePO4 packs (w/ an integrated BMC/LVC) the question is; can one rely on just the battery's BMC, and simply disable (or set very high) an ESC's cut-off?
