Overload in CO

I just put on a Michelin Bopper front tire on my Z20b, and the handling is much better. Gives me more confidence to ride the scooter. It's a 120/90L-10 bought from here. I also bought a Michelin S1 for the rear, size 100/90J-10, but have not installed it yet. $79 including shipping for both. These are the ones previously recommemded by usatracy. The front has about 10% larger diameter, which partially corrects for the speedometer error. My top indicated speed dropped from 50 mph to 45 mph.

:jawdrop: I am looking at an R-20 in a few days, conceptually I am stoked, but after reading through the headaches experienced by memebers of this forum - I am a little concerned. As luck would have it, the local EVT America dealer in Council Bluffs, Iowa says an R-30 model will be out soon and it has corrected ALL the problems associated with the R-20. Should I wait? What do you all know about the R-30?

Twice now when I've tried to charge my z20 overnight, the fused outlet I hook the bike up to has popped. I know this because my house alarm is connected to the same plug, and I get a call whenever the alarm power goes off.

Ideas?

Overload in Colorado

Does anyone know where a suitable replacement battery for a Z-20 can be purchased? I have one battery that seems considerably weaker than the others (four batteries will be at 11.8 volts immediately after a long ride, and one will be somewhere between 9-10 volts) that I would like to replace before the mismatch causes damage to the others.

Just wanted to warn those who have an R-20 or are thinking about purchasing one. About 2 weeks ago my wife and I were heading home after dinner on our bike. While going through a rotary the bottom of the bike caught the asphalt causing us to lay down the bike. Luckily, my wife only suffered some road rash on a forearm, whereas I had a bit more extensive road rash, cracked ribs, and snapped clavicle requiring surgery.

Does anyone have experience replacing the throttle on their scooter? Mine died. Andy sent me a new one but the 3 pin connector (which is supposed to be male) is female. There's no way that I can see of determining how it's supposed to connect to the bike. The old throttle wiring matches the description in the wiring harness document that EVTA sent us. The wires on it are white (pin 1 - positive), red (pin 2), and black (pin 3 - negative). The wires on my new throttle are color coded green, black (the middle one), and red.

Anybody put a Kelly controller into a Z-20 or similar scooter yet? I'm looking to do this on my Z-20b.

I just passed 500 actual miles (reading from my trip meter, not the reading the scooter) today on my way home from work. Was driving in 92 degree weather and didnt notice much if any decrease in top speed from the heat. Once I got the controller replaced its been going good. Ive had a few issues, but nothing too bad.

500 miles puts me at about 40-50 gallons of gas saved.

I am having issues with my Z20. It sounds and acts like it is a motor problem, but I don't know enough to rule out the controller.

If anybody could help with a diagnosis or troubleshooting tips, I would be grateful.

Symptoms:
- Sometimes motor engages, sometimes not
- When motor does engage, big vibrations/noise from rear wheel
- Doesn't seem to want to go very fast (maybe 15mph), but I haven't tried to push it considering the vibrations and noise
