EVTA Z20/R20 ownership summary

So what does one do while waiting for their first e-scooter? Read through the forum and collect info. I tried to find all of the EVTA Z20/R20 owners on V and give a brief summary. If you have an update, or I got it wrong, please chime in and give us more info. Here are the 10 owners I found mentioned on V. I focused on what problems they’re having (or have had - thanks mlh), plus top speed. There was not much range information, so I did not try to compile it; batteries are probably not fully broken in yet anyway.

Totally New to EV and Looking for Easy, Helpful Advice for R-20

Hi everyone,

Been reading this forum for a few weeks now. It is apparently the best source for EVT Z-20 and R-20 discussion on the web.

I ordered an EVT R-20 in November with the intention to replace my car with it. I wanted a much cheaper, eco-friendly form of transportation to get to work and handle other in-town trips. My boyfriend has a car that we use for out of town trips anyway, so it didn't make sense to keep paying $200+ a month for gas and insurance on an old car that just gets used for short trips anyway.

West Coast Tracking Numbers?

Did any of you West Coast folks get a tracking number for your Z-20 yet?

GPS confirmed speed data for Z20.

I am 265lbs. and 6'5". It was pretty windy and my neighborhood does not have a lot of long level roads. These are not "exact" and this is made a little harder because there is a decent damping/time delay on the speed-o of the bike.

My observations:

General rule of thumb: subtract 10 off the speed-o for any indicated speed 35mph or above.

40mph indicated is around 30.5mph GPS
45mph indicated is around 36.2mph GPS

Brock's new Z-20b

Well we got our electric scooter today (Jan 3rd 2008). It is the Z-20b and it for sure has a 60 volt battery pack. We put it all together and drove it around inside my work before I drove it to our new house being built just over a mile away. I don't know how much I will get to play, I mean use it, until it gets a bit nicer out. Today it was -4F or -20C outside and quite windy, Green Bay - WI. Anyway on the way home I got behind a truck going 40 and couldn't go open throttle so it goes at least that on a slight incline. Oh I am 5-10 and 180 lbs.

EVT Z20 arrived! Pics and impressions

First a hello to all of you I used to talk to on the old domain/forum. I moved when everyone else did, but was just lurking and it took the arrival of my z20 to register so I could start posting. :)

I am working on pics and a write up on the unpacking and assembly right now. But wanted to post and just say that I am happy with the bike. I have waited a long time and if this first impression holds it was worth the wait.

I got a blue Z-20a. It arrived around 3pm today central time.

LiFePO4 for the Z-20...

Technocats,

The Z-20 requires a 60V battery pack right? What is the minimum amp hours needed to get a decent range (25 miles) with LiFePO4? Would a 60V 20Ah pack be sufficient? This pack would cost $1400 bucks.

Tell me the answers dear gurus of electricity...

Thanks.
