This has got me stumped ... Im building a electric trike and Have been giving the parts from a currie electric bike ... I would love to use the Throttle which is a hall effect throttle to replace my ugly and rather unsafe Pot (I've nearly hit the wall once or twice from twisting it the wrong way already)
But I just cant get it to work
The motor is a Heinzmann 24V 250W (running at 36v) I cant provide many details as it was given to me. Its being run at 36v and has had some mechanical modifications but nothing electrical.

My 24V EV global bike started making a funny noise when I was engaging the hub sometimes and I assumed it was because I was not pedaling fast enough yet thus causing it to work too hard (though in hind site all I had to do before this problem developed was to get its momentum going forward then engage without any problem) The noise was like a rubber band being stretched (the best description i can come up with) Then the noise was occurring almost every time I engaged no matter how fast I was peddling before engaging.

I have Europa electric bike purchased new 2010, made sometime before that, ultra motor branded. I had to replace a defective key-switch, and that went well, but a wire in the handlebar throttle and light assembly got pinched during final reassembly. Now no throttle response, though all indicators are working and turn-on tones are on. Where can I find the factory service manual or wiring diagrams for the throttle twist-to-controller circuits? I have the test gear, just need the diagrams.

I'm having a kind of hard decision to make, I know lithium-ion is lighter & more powerful. Recently I blew 2 of the 5 batteries in my scooter-style electric bike. on 1 hand I have a tech saying to change to li-on I have to change motor, controller,& converter. Then on the other I have another tech at another shop saying that I don't have to change anything but the batteries. To make the switch do I have to run up a bill of almost $2000.00 if not more, or just 5 li-on batteries. Thanks for any help you can give.
