try to open handbooks, manuals etc, keep getting nyc real estate

Every time I try to open schematics well pretty much everything that is reference type material,I get some weird real estate ad.cute candy coed but no info.It seems to download them(I haven't opened any yet)but no online viewing. This can't be a new problem.I thought it was because I didn't log in but it makes no difference.I entered real estate in search and nothing pertaining to this came up.Am I missing something blatant?

Appropriate places for commercialized postings on V

In the following post the commercial nature of that post is mentioned... But rather than reply there (and hijack SkyEnergy's post) I'm following it up over here.

What happened to the search function?

Suddenly the search function, which used to work like a charm, is next to useless as far as functionality goes.

What happened? Has some upgrade gone horribly wrong?

UnCheck Right-Side Menus.

The "View" tab on the My Account page allows me to un-check (and thus eliminate) the right-side Blog menu and the right-side "recent posts" menu.

But, then, I get one last My Messages menu. Can I get rid of that last right-side menu?

Visforvoltage page consumes 100% CPU time for 10 seconds

It began some weeks ago, but on different computers, when the page is loading or when I'm exiting Firefox, CPU jumps to 100% for about 10 seconds and freezes Firefox. My Nokia E71 web browser isn't taking it kindly as well.

What is loading there, in the background?

Right-Side Lists, Improve?

If the right-side lists remain, can you make them show the last 50 posts instead of only the last 7?

Better, remove them (freeing up valuable screen width to see posts better) and add two new entries to the "Recent Posts" dropdown: "All Forums" and "All Blogs". The date-sorted lists there contain very useful info, who posted, when, what forum, etc. Probably the 50 most recent posts would be sufficient.

Removing the left-side "ID" column was a good idea, and posts are MUCH more readable now.

Thanks, Gary

How to edit and delete posts after posted

If one finds an error and either wants to go back and edit a post or delete a post that you've already posted, how do you do this?

Posts Missing? Old Database Restore?

Did we just get the database restored from an old backup? A bunch of recent topics seem to be missing....

Can someone help a brotha out with this S350?

I have 2 S350 scooters I received for a really great price... 1 12 pack of beer... BUT they have problems... I was wondering if anyone can help... One I will deal with later as it doesn't even move the wheels and I believe it's probably something major... but 2 of them for a 12 pack... couldn't say no...
Anyway...

Quotations are all buggered up!

It appears that since the recent software upgrade on V the "quote" function is different from before.

Whenever there is an empty line in the quote, the text below it appears out of the quotation, as if written by the author who is quoting.

Often that is not too hard to see through, but it has also affected all the old posts; and those that had multiple quotes included in the text are now a mess, some very hard to comprehend, because quotes and answers are mixed up badly.
