Lithium technology is finally becoming affordable and reliable for everyone. We personally use this vehicles to replace 98% of our transportation needs. We only use our Hybrid Car for long trips or when the weather is not fit for riding a two wheel vehicle.
Our 700Li is a classified as a power assisted bicycle or moped. Because electric bicycles have a pedal system (even though they do not need to be used) there is no need for a drivers license, it does not have to be registered with the DMV, and if you follow the bicycle laws you should be able to ride this bike any place bicycles are allowed to operate. (Per Federal Electric Bicycle Law H.R. 727)There is no need for insurance of any kind.
The best part, forget about gas. It only costs pennies to recharge. Please keep in mind that electric vehicles are famous for low maintenance costs. We have saved around $250 in vehicle replaced expenses a month. Insurance cost, gas cost and maintenance cost are all gone. The only things you will have to maintain are your tires and brakes. Batteries will last about 7 to 10 years. Compared to SLA batteries that is a huge improvement.

This is not a Toy Bicycle. It is always a good idea to wear a helmet and bright colored clothing. Unfortunately, as regular car drivers, we are not yet used to share the road with scooters, bicycles and motorcycles. Extra care must be observed while driving. Wearing safety reflective clothing when driving, specially while driving at night is highly recommended. The bright colored vests are available at any hardware store.
