Large size scooters from X-Treme Scooters

Rear Tire - 3500. 4000, 5000 Li

Following an unfixable flat, I replaced the 130/60-13 rear tire on my 4000li with a larger 150/70-13 from Dunlop. It is a much higher load capacity and speed rated tire with much much thicker rubber. The bike looks awesome with the larger tire. It fit, just barely, with no rubbing.

Downside...the 150 Dunlop is considerably heavier at 13.7 lbs and has a much larger circumference. I believe it has geared the bike somewhat higher. Fortunately the 4000li has tons of torque, so acceleration isn't a problem, but I am still somewhat concerned about the higher gearing.

XM-3000?

I'm new to electric scooters and don't own one. I'd like to buy a scooter that I can ride within 10 mile radius of my home. The area is residential with occasional round abouts and plenty of car traffic. I'd like it to be capable of 25-30mph and carry a passenger sometimes. The xm-3000 sounds like a good choice. Advice would be appreciated.
other brands and/or models I should look at?
essential accessories or mods?
reasonable prices and/or dealers?

thanks

Where to get controller for XM 4000li?

GreenMax sent me the wrong one. It's been months of troubleshooting because of it and now they want me to pay for the right one.

Is there another company I can get a replacement controller from?

XM-4000 Li - Real World Range

I have had my 4000Li for four months and have just over 1800 miles on it. Yesterday I tested the range limit and was able to cover 45 miles on the odometer on a single charge. I weigh 225 and had a passenger on the back. City driving, so a lot of stop and go. 90 degrees in Phx AZ. Some hill climing, and speeds varying between 20 and 40.

xm-5000 brake lights

Aloha,

Can anyone suggest what part might have failed that has caused my brake lights to not come on? I know it's not the bulbs, but beyond checking for that, I'm clueless. The guy at the safety inspection station checked to see if the light sockets were getting any signal when the brake lever was depressed and he said it wasn't.

Respectfully,

Jeff

Problems with XM-4000li

For the life of me I cannot find the speed switch that is supposed to let my scooter go more than 30 MPH. It's on economy mode and I've only been able to ride it at 30 MPH. Please Help! Is it possible that the switch broke off in shipping or something? I've submitted tickets for technical support and have received no response.

Did I miss the boat? (new xm3000)

It would seem I'm about 3 years late to catch the electric moped/scooter boat as most of you early odopters started this a few years ago... but I bought one anyway. Have a few motorcycles and gas mopeds in the garage to ease my gas bills in the summer, but the electric scoot route seemed intresting and another way to raise a middle finger to the oil companies.

Found a 'new old stock' xm3k. I've read probably every thread here in the past few months. So far I've:

Some Ahole drove over my new 5000LI with a 2 ton dualie

It started out a good night at the bar. Then a friend of mine comes running in yelling for me. I run outside to see my bike 5 feet from where it was parked on it's side. Luckily it wasn't punched into another car/bike. As I'm picking up the bike, I hear the guy in the truck say "What's your problem?". I tell him he ran over my damn bike! He gets out of his truck, and tells me to not trip out cuz I know him! Seriously! At one point he even told me that it was a lesson for both of us cuz I learned to park on the sidewalk so my bike wont get hit!

Removing Decals...

I've done a lot of work on my XM-3500li. I added four more cells, replaced the dashboard with a digital version, upgraded the controller to a 350A Kelly Controller with regen, and replaced the hub motor with a 4500W version. It's essentially a brand new bike. I could have created it from scratch, I just didn't have to weld together the battery box. At this point I would like to start doing conversions for other people, and I don't want X-Treme's name on my bike anymore.
