I have had my Currie Ezip for about a year .I have changed out the batterries with alittle bit of a problem but got it figured out. I rewired the PAS wire to the pedal stem. I am getting some wierd sort of temporary short. It will kick back in when I am peddaling or sometimes if I lift the battery pack up and then put it down in the rack Its sporadic and the only time it seems to repeat is every other time I back off the throttle completely.. I am beginning to think it is something in the pas switch at the bottom of the throttle havent taken it apart yet? Any ideas?

Here's a couple of pictures of the frame without the ICE, and a mock up of the sepex motor. It's a little close to the back brake, but I never use that anyway. :D

So tonight I weighed the bike as a starting point. Totally non-scientific using a couple of cheapo bathroom scales, but it will do for what I need. It was 240lbs on the front and 265lbs on the rear. This will give me an idea of how much weight gets removed/added.
I also ran the bike for a couple of minutes, but it rattled quite a bit. I don't think I'll bother putting any effort into the motor, I'll just sell it as is. So next step is to remove all the junk I don't need and weigh it again.

I recently purchased an Aotema E-bike kit from Berson EV. When the front axle nuts came loose the fourth time, it pinched the wiring and was advised by their tech rep to purchase another controller and that would probably fix the problem. It did not. I again contacted Bernsov and explained the problem and asked if I could return the controller. I received an E-mail back telling me it was a matter of personal responsibility and that this was not a repeated problem with this hub motor.

Join the Electric Revolution......How far has the electric revolution really come? Lets start simple with an electric scooter which is now a viable product in the UK. How many charging points are there now in London? Are the bus lanes fully open for use to scooters classed as L1 mopeds which are limited to 30 mph? Why is there 6% import duty on electric scooters? Government assistance please for purchase of electric scooters.

Well I'm about to start my own conversion and I'll do my best to keep this blog up to date. Since my computer is also in the garage it might not be too difficult. :)
Right now I've just taken delivery of my donor. It's a 1984 Kawaskai Ninja 900R. In good shape for an EV conversion, but pretty crappy otherwise! But for $350 it can't be all bad.
Here's some pictures that the guy who sold it to me sent:

Hello and thank you to everyone participating on these forums. I have been following and educating myself on the advances and step back of electric vehicles for a few months now.
my question is a practical one; which electric scooters currently on the market would be the best fitted to use as a daily rental on a small touristic island knowing that a trip around the island average 30 miles, the terrain is mixed with mostly flat road and a top speed of 45 miles per hour would be sufficient?
best regards,
