Full Xtreme support ticket dialogue up to today.

This is the complete conversation that I have had with Xtreme over the last three months. The last post is at the top of the page, the first at the bottom. Any thoughts and comments are welcome. Even from Arctic Fox to whom I owe a public apology. You were very right sir about Xtreme's very crappy customer service as the posting below will indicate.

Constant Current DC-DC Converter

The -40~80 degree working temperature DC-DC converter I mentioned last time(12v to 24v, 500W), results in a piece of 220*165*75mm, 4.5 kg rock. Water-proof, shock resistant and other protection like short-circuit, lack input voltage etc.

The client couldn't agree to compromise on the temperature, and the unit price finally come to about $260 for 100 pcs quantity.

I'd like to post the picture of the device, however, it may bother the buyer since it was an OEM product. And it doesn't look very nice. Looking is not that important, right?

Charger Bike - battery charger

I have a Lithium battery pack and a separate battery charger. I was trying to figure out the state of charge of the battery from the 8 lights on the battery charger marked Led 1, through 8 Lights 1 through 7 light up after 1 hour of charge. Light # 8 takes much longer to come on. Is it OK to stop charging when I have 7 lights on? Thanks Leo

More of the same from X-Treme

More of the same "it's out of warranty" line in boilerplate text response about the mechanical/electrical problems. The batteries have a separate, 1-year warranty, which they seem more willing to address...sort of.

This is from "John," who has been replying to me in X-Treme's support ticket tool, on Sep 14:

Appeal to X-Treme support, part 2

After a terse, unhelpful and very unsatisfactory reply from X-Treme, I followed-up today (Sept. 9, 2009) with another appeal:

These problems began well within the warranty period. For example, the blinker was always a problem, but I didn't realize that was leading to failure! All the problems should be covered by your warranty. As far as that goes, I do not think it is just to lay on the customer the cost of labor for fixing, or attempting to fix, problems caused by poor manufacturing.

Many problems, but I want to love it

Submitted to X-Treme Scooters' support ticket platform Sept. 4, 2009

Hi,
I hope you can help me. I have a short list of problems with the scooter, all of which are getting progressively worse. While I purchased the scooter last December, I just put it on the road in April, and it only has 1688km on it.

I will start with the serious safety issues.

New Baja Motorsports BE-500 Scooter, 145 miles so far...

Hello,
I am new to all this electric stuff and really having a grand time with it. I have put 145 miles on my BE-500 so far, and only seem to be having a problem with the charger and charger light not going from red to green to let me know when it is fully charged. I would like to meet others who have the same bike and learn more about how I may care for and keep up my fun little ride. Open to any ideas. Thanks a ton!
