Despite of seasoned and trained Swiss Electric race teams friends, presence in Monza autodrome track (Italy)on13 and 14 June, during ARIA NUOVA TROPHY 2009 ( EVENT COUNTING TOWARDS ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES FIA CUP, AND ITALIAN CHAMPUIONSHIP category III & IIIA – IV – VII & VIII CONSTRUCTORS FIA TROPHY http://www.monzanet.it/eng/aria_nuova.aspx ) we(myself and other Vectrix rider) concluded the racing with our Vectrix much better as it was expected.
Vectrix:
1st and 2nd Cat IV ( electric bike )
2nd and 3rd ranking general electric vehicles (III-III-IV)
4th and 5th Test Consumption
In tests of consumption we could have been classified at the top if not an error in our evaluation of the Vectrix autonomy, (in the sense that at the end the Vectrix autonomy it was beyond the expectations), which has led us to load more electric power than needed between a race test and another. This experience will be very usefull for next race.
Here are some photos of the race in Monza Autodrome.

This wonderful experience was realised thanks Sponsors Vialibera (VIALIBERA: eco solutions – Corporate www.vialiberaweb.com) and the Italian dealer Vectrix Valter Moto Milan.
I really hope to see you with your Vectrix in the next trohpy edidion.
Well done and congratulations!
Lucky you had no accident in shorts and t-shirt, though....
Do they allow to race without protective clothing?
What was the race like? How long, how many laps, how many charging stops etc.
Did you have to go slow to make the distance or could you use the full power of your Vectrix?
This information may be used entirely at your own risk.
There is always a way if there is no other way!
Hi
yes don't worry this Vectrix rider was in Monza only after the racing, during the free Ecological vehicles track tests. At this link you can find any informazion regading the race rules. http://www.monzanet.it/eng/aria_nuova.aspx
any how :
Regularity Test
Electric Vehicles: 10 laps = Km. 57,00 (x 4 races)
Each competitor must hold the average speed imposed, with a tolerance whose percentage will be communicated by the Clerk of the Course during administrative controls.
The average speed are:
Urban sector length 0,621 Km 35 Km/ph
Extra-urban sector length 3,222 Km 75 Km/ph
Motorway sector length 1,957 Km 90 Km /ph
At the end of each Regularity Test ( after 10 laps for Cat III – IIIA & IV) in the last 100 mt in-between the yellow board with clock and the red board with clock (finish line) no “Stop Wheel” can be done under penalty of sanctions by the Stewards.
Energy Consumption Test
3.4.2 Electric Vehicles
Electric vehicles must recharge or replace the batteries in the deputy place and always under supervision of a Scrutineer. During recharging, the energy consumption will be measured. At the end of the stage, the electric vehicles will not be recharged. For the consumption classification, the total energy contained in the batteries will be calculated, plus the energy taken by station.
3.5.4 Energy Consumption Index (CI)
The energy consumption index will be calculated with the following formula
CI = ITE / (DxGVW)
C I = Consumption Index - the lowest index value sets the best result
ITE = Initial Theoretic Energy
For electric powered vehicles this value ITE must be expressed at a discharge rate C1 and has to be proved by an official document issued by the accumulator manufacturer which must be handed during scrutineering. 11
For the other vehicles, a document stating the description and the certification issued by the producer of the type of fuel (fuels) type used (energy used) must be shown.
During the tests or during scrutineering, a fuel samples will be take for further analysis.
For this purpose, the vehicles must always have at least 3 litres of fuel on board during the event.
D = total running distance
W = Vehicle Weight running
Congratulations! That is way cool that your country has this contest and that you entered it. Have fun, Louie
If Vectrix did develop as it should, it could easily enter a TTXGP race with it's prototype superbike:
Elektro, its cool you went to the event of Monza Trophy.
Here in Barcelona on the 5th of June there was a similar event for Ev to go to the Barcelona Racing Circuit at Montmelo to try out the Vehicles in racing(whatever possible). But was not a Race, just a parade and try the circuit.
I couldnt attend but one owner who i know went i will try to ask him for some fotos!
Hi RaDy
great news,,can you post some pictures or video..there was some Vectrix ?...
This baby will rock everything on EV races:
One question: Did you drive the whole track by driving behind the car's wind wake?
