Where to get sockets for Makita lithium batteries

At the Maker Faire I met a guy who built an electric scooter and bike powered from Makita lithium tool batteries. He mentioned that he got the battery receptacles from someone in San Jose, CA who, IIRC, makes them himself and sells them. I lost the contact info and was hoping someone here might know where to get sockets. I'd rather not hack up flashlights if I don't need to. Thanks for any help.
