Weinmann Motor Brushes?

I have an EV Global eBike "skeleton", and the Weinmann 36V hub motor either has bad contacts or brushes, based on testing with direct voltage, i.e. minimal and intermittent response. Has anyone here opened one of these up? Before I go through the effort, are the brushes commonly available? Any critical "do's and don'ts" from experience?
I have played with lots of model train motors, so I am comfortable mucking around with them. Thanks!

Gen Power

I am planning to add a 500-750watt hub motor to power a 2 seat tricycle.

Is it possible to use a portable generator to provide power through the batteries when they run down? If so what size generator do I need (500-750watt or greater?).

Thanks in advance for any assitance.

E-Bike Brushless Motor and Controller

Help.
Bought a new E-Bike 36V 10AH with Brushless motor and controller, throttle and pedelec control. On my 4th ride, while climbing a little hill, all of sudden motor stopped. Pedal home, fully charged battery. Still the motor does not turn at all with zero load (off ground). What can be wrong? Motor burnt out due climbing a hill? Controller? Help! Seller is hopeless not helping.
Thank you.

Itselectric vs. ebikes.ca vs. ampedbikes vs. anyone else?

Considering a build-up electric bike and the above online vendors seem to have a good reputation here and other ebike forums. I'm pretty handy with a wrench, but when it comes to ebikes, i'd like to be able to call someone or email them with any questions. I have built up a ebike before with a front motor, SLAs and a pretty bare bones controller, but I'm willing to push up my budget a little higher. I also have a bionx, that may be reaching the end of it's life.

replacing SLA pack in EVG 36v eBike with 500w Heinzmann motor

Can anyone suggest the best approach to replacing a dead 36v 8Ah SLA pack inside an EVG eBike? It's powering a 500w Heinzmann motor and sits inside a pull out pack with a built in charger. This is very convenient and compact -- the space available for the battery in the current design is only 302x97x98mm though.

Respoking a bionx hub to a larger wheel?

Was wondering if anyone had done this and the pros/cons. I have a 20" bionx kit, which I like, but most 20" wheeled bikes have 1) no suspension and 2) limited options to add additional racks to carry panniers and stuff and 3) more expensive bikes. I'd like to move my 20" to a 26" wheel, where there are a lot bike models. I have a PL350, btw.
