Dual opposing Brushless Etek motors
I am currently applying the finishing touches to a motor system for a 41' sailboat. I have installed two brushless etek engines on a dual input single output 1" browning gearbox. Because of the gear box one motor will need to run clockwise while the other is running counter clockwise. I am using two Kelley KBL 24201 controllers and the Kelley control box. On the advise of Kelley I have brought a connection from the other side of the reversing on off on switch to the controller #2. When controller #1 reversing wire #9 is open controller #2 reversing wire #9 is closed. This seems to do the trick, although I am not realising the 1600 RPMs that I should. This makes me wander if controller #1 should have the recommended hall effect sensor wiring that was talked about in the previous blog and controller #2 should have different sensor wiring because it is running in the opposite direction. Any comments or help would be much appreciated.
