Alternatives to Sevcon controller for golf cart.....

I am looking for any alternatives to a Sevcon controller for a golf cart. We have had problems with our recently. The cart powered on then when it was put in reverse the cart slammed backward without our feet being on the peddle. Then wouldn't move. Looking for some advice, We have checked all fuses and all places where a short could come from. Any advice welcome....

Sounds more like a reversing contactor problem? What type of controller? Model number? Is there a contactor for reversing? Any controller is like a light dimmer. It can be bench tested to test unit. Logisystems, Curtis and Yamaha make good controllers along with Alltrax. Because of versatility of Alltrax I would go with it for you can program what type of controls to use. Inductor, resistor or hall effect voltage.
