what is happening to my Wilderness Experience bike?
Submitted by twotiedye on Thu, 08/23/2007 - 23:31
hello all
I have only 20 hours on my wilderness experience bike. The charger went bad right away and they would not warranty it. Then it started vibrating badly, like it was going from forward to reverse at 60 times a second. Have any of you out there experienced this?
Steve

Does this have a brushless hall effect motor and controller?

I know it is a brushless motor. I do not know anything else. It did not come with any data, or service manual.

Soundsjust like the trouble i am having with a 48v kit i bought from jaded13 on ebay.check your wiring connections first then tell me what colors and types of wires go to your motor. you will need a digital volt ohm meter and a 5volt dc power source.

It sounds like you lost one of the three hall signals. Could be a bad wire connection between the motor and controller (the 5 skinny wires) or one of the sensors in the motor could have gone bad.
With a voltmeter, you can test the hall signals.
