Popularity of electric bikes

Thinking of the electric bike, hmm sound quite interesting but is it really going to be the future for public transport. We don't know that and by guessing we can just say that yes, it will be the future. How serious is the electric bikes industry. In China there is millions of electric bicycles produced every year. Saw the really nice one recently. It is a new A2B Metro from Ultra Motor. It's a sort of something between the normal electric bicycle and the electric scooter. I was just wondering how saleable this product can be. Will people like it or not. Currently it one of the fastest electric bikes in the world which is legal. I have also tried the beast and it sound quite impressive, very fast and quiet. There is however another concern. The price??? 1995 quid. Hmm A lot so will people buy it or not.
