So, I'm not sure what to really call this kind of electric bicycle. It has pedals, but looks like a skinny scooter or moped. It is not as wide as the XB-500 or XB-600 moped styled 'electric bikes.' I saw a posting here about the Liberty Electric Bike (like this one: http://www.iloveebikes.com/ebike098.html), and I also see that X-treme has one called the XB-490 (http://www.x-tremescooters.com/electric_bicycles/xb490/xb490.html)
Has anyone done comparisons of these kinds of 'turn-key' skinny scoots? My father can't take the width of the fatter ones, and some of the more 'bicycle-styled' ones are too tall, tippy, or have other balance issues for him.
What I'd really like to see is a chart of the feature sets of the various options out there so I and others could choose what would work best for them. I may end up making a chart myself, but since it is hard to categorize these things, I find it difficult to search for these models on the internet! If users here could at least weigh in with the different models they have seen out there, that would be super. If t=anyone has reviews or additional insights, I would also like to hear about them.
Thanks all!
Here's another one, I think... although I cannot really tell how wide it is between the pedals:

I got a response to my questions from X-Treme about the XB-490:
1) What is the battery weight? The weight is approx. 2 lbs
2) What is the battery chemistry? The battery is a lead acid type
3) What is the width between the pedals? The width between the pedals is 8-10 inches
4) Does it have an alarm? the XB-490 does not have an alarm
5) What is the delivery amps of the 48V controller? The amps are 30
As you can imagine, I am trying to get question #1 verified again... 2 lbs???
