Another Leaf conversion / NiMH packs available

With the assistance of the collective knowledge here, as well as some 'hand holding' from XVectrix, my 2009 VX-1 is now sporting 18 leaf cells. Too early to tell range and what not (only got this completed 3 hours ago), but a quick ride was more than satisfactory.

Observations

- VectrixSupport.com (XVectrix) well worth the change if you're nervous like me and want to talk it out with THE expert (hey he designed the thing).

- Make sure you have everything you need downloaded before you start

That all said,

I have a NiMH pack (both 1/2's) available, as well as a set of plenum fans. The pack was what I would consider moderately good condition (according to the Laird's firmware I could charge within 3 - 4 bars of max. ) Before it goes to recycling, I'll offer it up to the group. You can have it (yes free), but you have to pick it up. I'm not shipping, packing, etc. Pack is located in my friends warehouse in Lititz, PA (outside Lancaster). So, if you want to play with a NiMH pack, PM me.

Re: Another Leaf conversion / NiMH packs available

Hello,
I am about to acquire a 2007 Vectrix VX-1 bought off ebay (auction). The battery pack is listed as being in an unknown and weak state. Considering the age and potential abuse (heat, deeply discharged, cycles) with degradation and sulfation I would imagine that the batteries would not be a good candidate for recondition. So, I was wondering about options to replace (any deepcycle off the shelf?) or replenish (flush and refill the electrolites inside) it in lieu of buying an overexpansive sub-par original battery Ni-Metal original battery pack: the leaf lithium ion sounds like a great mod, but there is are no totaled leafs nearby me and the ones found online are rather expensive.

thks,
tk3000

Jim

It's not the shipping, it's the packing and making sure it's safe for transit (I mean they still have a near full charge in them!)

I suppose if I were to strap them to a pallet, and then take it to Forward Air, but that takes time....

PM me if you really want them and I'll see what I can do on my end, but it wouldn't be quick
