I was wondering, has anyone seen the inside of a Giant LaFree transmission? From the outside pictures I have seen, it looks like it must have some sort of worm drive. What has me curious is, do these things have grease in them or oil? If it's grease I'm going to tear into mine and put some new grease in it. It's a 2002, so if it's grease it could be getting dried up.

It takes about a thimble full of moly lube - a thick oil.
