Is the new scooter from Xtreme scooter Lithium battery pack. In the advertisement it says Lithium but under specs it shows five each 38 amp hours gel cell battery pack.Sure would be nice to see lighter weight and more range. It sort of looks like the old Vespa scooters.

I had the same question before purchasing a 3100 recently. I was told (and can now confirm) that the 3100 currently uses 5 greensaver gel cell batteries. A new version to be released later this year will utilitize lithium ion battery packs. There are some pretty spectacular deals on the 3100 on ebay recently. I suppose they are making room for the new version.
Go for one of the screaming deals. Use the SLA's until they poop out then replace with LiFePO4 - by that time you'll be able to buy pre-conditioned cells, a BMS and a charger from us (at least I hope so). Yeah, OK, this is an ad for us. But with a twist - I told him to buy a competitors bike...
WTF was I thinking?

Well thanks for the tip. eBay now has a strange way of bidding now! VERY strange. I bid on two XM-3100 scooters under the name ITALIAN scooter for $715.00 and $850.00. If my XM-3000 is 3000 watt, I would imagine the 3100 to be 3100 watt. But I will have lots of Green saver batteries now. I can use them in my UPS which is 96 volt UPS.
I have a NiMH pack in my VX-1 and it is getting a bit stronger every day. Pb-acid batteries just seem to peter out relatively fast. I will have to wait on getting the new battery pack that is described online till I wear out my Italian scooter battery pack. Then I will have to worry about proper charger for it. Now my wife and I can drive matched scooters.
BTW
keep bidding on eBay even though it say out bid. it goes up by set increment new closing.

Nope - it's also 3000W - they just wanted a different name for the different body style.

I bought my XB600 from this seller (for about the amount the bidding on this 3000 wat scooter is going for!). Delivery (drop ship) was prompt. It came with what I considered an illegal requirement that the buyer MUST give a positive feedback to eBay for the warranty to be valid. I sent them an e-mail on the subject, but received no reply.
My message to "lotaphones":
I received a similar flyer with my 3100. I don't recall it saying that the warranty would be nullified by leaving negative feedback, but I'll take a close look at it tonight.
I just looked at the flyer, it also contains the same language that ties warranty support to not providing negative feedback. I don't have anything to complain about, the seller was very prompt and responsive, but I agree that it seems wrong, and most likely against e-bay rules to tie warranty service to feedback.
I just got back from UPS trucking company with one of two XM-3100's I purchased on eBay from Getscooters.com. One was on Motorcycle carrier and I rode the other one home. The ride was only 12 Km on Odometer but a real 5 miles. The batteries must of been old for the power dropped off at the end of my short trip. The book was dated 2008 and I just found out about the XM-3100 just last month really. I thought the pack was new type of batteries but just the regular green savers. It charged up Ok but during the first 4 or 5 hours the charger was a tad bit warm to the touch. I swapped it out with XM-3000 charger and by then the battery was up to snuff. This scooter seem to have faster speed than my XM-3000 but it had a controller problem. This time I followed my wife and she said solid 35 MPH and never more and I followed most of the way till red light got to me. The dash is easier to read than XM-3000. There is a lot of info on this site and I found an other scooter company in the state of MI and they are making a low cost version of my other scooter the VX-1 and I guess it is called c-120 and C-130. It uses the new Lithium pack and is made in the USA. Till the economy picks up I don't think I will get any more or too many more scooters? It is going to be hard for me to go from VX-1 to XM-3100 daily but I have to give both bikes a fair work out to see life expectancy and performance. For the price I paid for XM-3100 I can't complain. I got a real steal. And it is the best working eXtreme scooter I have rode to date. Again don't go below 50% DOD and batteries will last for years.

I just bought one of these xm3100 on ebay from getscooters for $620.00 and I am worried about the quality. Although I have not yet received it I cant help but wonder if I may have made a mistake. It seems there are lots of complaints about xtreme scooters reqarding customer support and reliability. I have tried to call them many times and no one ever answers the phone and you have to leave a message that no one ever returns. CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE BUYING THIS SCOOOTER?
Well, Let's see...
The scoot will come with five 38AH SLA batteries, currently sold for $135 EACH, so the battery pack will have a value of $670.
Now, what sort of value do you want? You now have a complete scooter -- tires, motor, lights, brakes, suspension... -- AND batteries, for less than the pack would cost retail. You'll be money ahead if you make it around the block once...
(BTW, after four months, my XB600 is still doing fine - only one major mod, the parallel/series plug to allow balanced charging.)
ditto,
if it works, its a bargain.
those scooters have a very large battery box by volume, so you have many options for battery replacement after they die.
For long service life as a daily commuter, large format LiFePO4 is the best (IMHO).
