2004 model Schwinn S180 brake upgrade

I recently came across a used schwinn s180 scooter and noticed that it has a band style brake on the rear. I wanted to know if i can switch to electric brakes just by upgrading the controller and adding an electric style 2 wire brake switch? Thanks for reading
