Yesterday our local NBC Station announced a BBB warning about buying Auto Parts online, If I can locate it, I'll post a link. There was also another online warning issued I can't remember what it was right now. They said consumers are not receiving the parts they ordered.

I can't imagine that a reputable vendor such as jcwhitney would be doing nefarious things selling autoparts. I expect the way you've put it, "They said consumers are not receiving the parts they ordered.", too broadly said and that the truth is that certain vendors are crooked and doing as you said. The way you said it sounds like the warning applies to all autoparts dealers, rather than to specific ones who are crooked.

I thought we already figured out that the BBB is like the 1930's mafia - if you give them money they won't bother you, but if you don't pay up you'll be out of business.

I don't believe I ever said they were all crooks.
Our local NBC TV News station has a part of the noon show were they have a quest talk about various consumer issues, the President of our local BBB is a regular guest. All she said was be careful when you order Auto parts online, it was not a Alert or any thing like that. She said they have received complaints about people receiving the wrong parts. I only posted it here as a FYI because some members do order parts online. I assumed she was saying mistakes can happen and don't just assume the part will fit before you compare it etc mistakes can happen.
She never mentioned a name of a company or says any were crooks, she said they make mistake, so be careful.
If you ever dropped a Trans, only to discover the replacement that was suppose to fit won't, you learn to match up things before you try to install it.
Beats me how it got interpreted to say anything other than that.
Peace Out,
Gman

I'm glad it's not what I assumed from what you originally said. It seems to me this statement: "They said consumers are not receiving the parts they ordered." ... is very absolute and doesn't contain any qualifiers. It's probably more accurate to say "some consumers haven't received the parts they ordered".
