Announces Cost of Shipping
PRIORITY AND EXPRESS LIST SHIPPING COST: $400.00
(TO ANY DESTINATION WITHIN CONTINENTAL USA)

In our effort to provide all the members - of the Waiting List Club that have exercised their option to purchase based on our Deposit Agreement - Priority and Express Membership - the most affordable shipping cost to have their units delivered with a lift gate and insurance to their shipping address, we have finally concluded negotiations with a major Global Freight Forwarder and Logistics Company that has the capacity to provide the top quality shipping service that EVTAMERICA requires.
We are pleased to announce that the cost of shipping to any address in the continental United States for ALL BUYERS on the PRIORITY and the EXPRESS MEMBERSHIP list is NET four hundred United States Dollars ($400.00). We have accepted this rounded minimum price because it significantly benefits the great majority of PRIORITY AND EXPRESS MEMBERSHIP.
We obtained excellent terms and conditions for shipping.
In our Deposit Agreement we had estimated that the cost of shipping would run between $400.00 and $600.00 but the result of our negotiations has placed the cost at the very minimum of our estimate. Following our policy to provide electric vehicle transportation at the most affordable price possible, we are pleased to officially inform that the Total Cost of Shipping is net four hundred United States Dollars ($400.00) per unit to any address within continental USA.
For those members that have purchased two units going to the same address, the total price for shipping is net seven hundred United States Dollars ($700.00)
All members will be invoiced accordingly when we request pending balance. This will take place when shipping to your address is imminent.
A Global Freight Forwarder will handle our shipping.

This email account will be used for any customer wishing to contact Schenker for shipping information, insurance claims, "where is my scooter", etc.
Please note that we have insured your purchase right up to when it is delivered. If there has been damage caused by shipping and handling, purchaser must make the claim immediately upon receipt of purchase documenting damage in detail and including photos of damage. You must notify Schenker, Inc. at the above email address if there is any claim for shipping damage.
As promised, for this time only, we wish to announce that the two shipping Depots have been designated by Schenker, Inc. They are:

You may pick up your crate at our Depots if you wish.
As promised, any PRIORITY OR EXPRESS MEMBER that wishes to pick up their motorcycle at the designated shipping depots may do so, but be advised that there will be a warehouse handling cost of one hundred dollars ($100.00) which is limited to having a forklift at the warehouse deposit the crate containing your purchase on your truck. All shipping costs are prepaid so you must let us know as soon as possible in order for us to make the adequate adjustment to your pending balance invoice and allow us time to let Schenker, Inc. know that you will be picking up your unit at the designated Depot.
Schenker, Inc. has advised us that all those members thinking of picking up their units at their Depot should be aware of both the size and the weight of the Crate containing the motorcycle. Here is an attached image to let you better understand the dimensions.
Information regarding our Crates.
The dimensions of the crate are 73.62 inches long; 22.44 inches wide and 43.70 inches high. The gross weight is approximately 400 pounds. Hard cardboard covers a steel frame within that house firmly in place the motorcycle to protect it from any damage.
What they can do for you at the Depot and what they can not do.
Caveats.
The forklift can only pick up the crate from the side and therefore can only deposit the crate on the truck sideways. This means that you need a flat bed truck or a truck that has a bed at least 6 feet 2 inches wide or more. If you do not have such a truck then you can not pick up your crate at the Depot. For insurance reasons Schenker will not load a truck if there is any potential danger of causing damage to the truck or the crate.
Furthermore, you can not dispose of the crate at the Depot. You have to pick up the crate and take it away. Another consideration is that the moment that you pick up the crate you sign off on your purchase and the insurance coverage ends with your signature.
Think and evaluate before you decide.
We want to make you aware of all these caveats with the clarity and transparency that we have always addressed all issues. Needless to say it is your choice if you want to pick up your unit at the Depot but we feel that having your unit delivered to your "door steps" for an additional $300.00 is a very good value that you should assess objectively.

I was looking at that and wondering if they'd let you call the drop-off point the curb outside and then load it into a van or whatever and not have to worry about the 6'2" clearance for the forklift...
It doesn't seem like it'd be that hard. But they also might just be picky about that sort of thing.
The forklift issue has to do with those who are picking the scooter up at the freight terminal. The concern is that the forklift can only carry the scooter on the pallet width-wise, but it will have to go on a pickup truck lengthwise. But, two reasonably fit people should be able to load the scooter pallet on a pickup by lifting one end, then the other, and sliding it onto the truck bed. One of those lifting-straps used to for carrying refrigerators might be helpful.
The main revelation of this announcement is that the scooters are going to arrive at your curb pretty much straight from the Chinese assembly plant - no dealer prep of any kind. So, before you ride it, you need to check the tightness of every critical nut and bolt. Do not expect the scooter to arrive ready to ride.
