I'm new to the forum and have been considering either a Wilderness
Energy BL36 front-wheel kit or a less expensive front-wheel, 600watt,
36volt kit from Five Flags Motor Bikes called the "ElectroHub
conversion kit" (http://www.fiveflagsmotorbikes.com/elechubmotor.htm).
I have read extensively, on this and other sites, about the Wilderness
Energy kit but have not been able to find out much about
the "ElectroHub" kit. Does anyone have any first hand experience with
this kit and can offer some honest advice on its quality and
operational aspects and whether they would recommend buying it? Price
difference would be about $100. I like most others appreciate saving
money, but not at the expense of sacrificing quality. Also, any
information on previous experience with Five Flags Motor Bikes would also be
appreciated. Thank you very much.

Some motors are faster or have more toruque than others due to differences in windings. But the big differences between kits seems to be in the controllers. Some are sold in the over $150 range and others are dirt cheap on ebay. WE has made some improvements on thier controllers and may be worth the extra money. Ask the vendor about the electrohub controllers, how many amps is the thing to know. If you are interested in fast, we know the WE controllers can also go 48v, but we don't know about the electrohub.
If you are ok with 15-20 mph and won't be climbing huge hills or pulling trailers, why not try the electrohub? But if you know you need more than a small controller and 36v can do, then go with the We and overvolt it.

as far as the question above
all i can say is that unfortunatly the techknowledgy
is thus far not cheap
the small jap motors are ok for what they are,and i have in stalled many. but i was never happy with the short commings like weak controllers, low power, low speed,low range.
i needed a bike i could ride all day without worry,that had tons of torch long long range and great speed, and look good, none were found so i built my own
i have a 8.5ft chopper trike with dual rear drum brakes
it has a 1000watt front hub that maxes out at about 4omph
it has 4 12v 17ah batteries and a 12v 12ah battery to run the motorcycle head and tail lights the neons,horn ect
it has cruise controll and more
it can haul tons of weight even up hill with little to no power loss
in my personal opinion if your going electric seriously and not just a weekend thing you dont want a cookie cutter bike that skimps were you need it.
