Tired of driving the car, put 4000 miles/year on my HPVelotechnik Scorpion recumbent trike every year, but it just isn't practical to ride it with a trailer and heavy loads. Sold my Tour Easy and bought a Sun EZ3 AX delta trike, which sits higher and is easier to modify. Started off with a WE BL36 at 400w, added solar panels which, at best, offer 45w at 36v, or about 12% of what the WE hub uses. Went to 26" rears and then, a C'lyte X5 on a 26" front, but this beast goes through the watts per mile so fast, the solar wasn't worth the added weight penalty, so they became a ground station to recharge the batts. for the lights and air horn. Waiting for the Cycle Analyst and Ping pack for greater range. Also, working on a coroplast body so I can stay warm in the Chicago winters.

I've been thinking along similar lines .. a three wheel recumbent with cargo capacity and a motor.
