build your own.

I am once again tinkering with the idea of building my own scooter.

I was thinking using this motor and the controller and throttle they suggest

But the question is what size scooter to use? I know someone that might let go of a 110CC Pocket rocket, but outside of that what you use?

I have been thinking of building one of these;

I think the motor you have chosen would be a good fit for this project.

Not really, I talked to the guy who designed these because of the weight limitations and he told me they can be made to carry lots more weight. He said all you have to do is place wooden doll rods inside the PVC pipe and they can carry much more weight. I told him about placing a motor on one and now his website shows a version with a motor.

As far as mounting the motor I would place it under the seat and connect the chain to the right rear wheel. The pedals drive the left rear wheel so this will give it 2 wheel drive good for slick pavement or wet grass.
