xb-600 problem (runs and hesitates, runs and hesitates)

My problems started last year after I had the scooter for 3 weeks. I got a flat, changed the tire, and the wires spun out of the motor. So I bought a new motor and put it on. Then the scooter started going and then hesitating, going and then hesitate, on and off like that. I contacted the company and they said it would either be the motor or the controller, so I bought the controller since I knew it wasnt the motor because it did the same thing with both new motors. (i ended up getting 2 new motors from the company) so now it does this hesitation and I cant figure out why. Can anyone help me with it?

Just a thought: Both brake levers have small switches to control throttle cutoff, and one of them even toggles the motor braking feature. One of the switches might be worn own and giving intermittent contact.

I will check into that. thanks. I am trying to give it a full charge to see if that has anything to do with it because I turned on the key and noticed that it had a little light glowing near the L for low charge. So I am thinking that the charge was way too low to do anything with (even though it showed a half charge and I never noticed that light before) So I am giving it a fresh new charge overnight. I will post anything I find out about it. Thank you.

I think it is the fact that is has not been charged in 1 year. It broke down on me at the beginning of last june, and I just got it going again today. (between no money, no time, and no idea on what was wrong, it took me a while to fix it). So I have it on a charge for the night, and will test ride it in the morning. I will update this post by tomorrow evening.

It could very well be the low charge. That is EXACTLY how my bike acts when the batteries get too low.

I TOO have had this happen from low batteries and/or a loose or bad terminal or connection.

I also think that depending on exactly how it is doing it, it could be the brake levers malfunctioning or possibly even a bad hall sensor in the "new" motor.

Well, I am very happy to say that the overnight charging did the trick. I was able to ride from one side of my town to the other, which took 30 minutes to do, and rode around a park for a little bit, then charged it at the park for a half hour just in case it might need it, then rode the half hour home and it did very well. I am very happy with the way everyone helped me with things. Knowing there are others who have had the same situations and what they did with them has really helped me. Thanks to you all.

In the future, having a voltmeter is a good investment. They are accurate (+-.01V), cheap ($4.00 @ Harbor Freight), and indispensable.
