Electradrive - http://www.electradrive.net - has created a product line which claims to be an easy-to-install conversion kit. Their initial target is light and medium trucks targeting availability beginning in the second half of 2010.
They were winner of the 2008 California Clean Tech Open in Transportation. That's a pretty prominent prize so far as I know. It also means they've spent well over a year developing the product.
How this works as a business is that - rather than sell kits to end customers - they make arrangements with service shops who do the installation. They are putting together a distributed network of vehicle conversion and service centers to support our customers as they migrate to electric power. Hence their website contains offers to become an installer (so you can join the network of conversion centers) or to become a trainer (to train the installers).
Dunno much more than that - my last contact with them was a year ago when the company was just two people.
