Mystery Electric Bike Kit

My father in law has an 36 volt electric bike and today while he was riding it he went over a set of rail road tracks and lost power.
He burned his bridge with the bike shop that installed and he has no idea what brand it is. The only name I can get off the
front hub motor is USAAOTEMA and a bunch of Chinese symbols. It has a very small controller not much bigger than a pack of
smokes and has a thumb throttle with the battery lights on it. Any idea what brand it could be? Golden, Wilderness?????

Electro Cycle E-4 Kit for EZ-1 Recumbent Question

Does anyone out there have any experience with the Electro Cycle E-4 Kit for the EZ-1 Recumbent bike. It appears to be a very good and relatively inexpensive kit for the money. My main concern is that it is only available in 24 volts. After using a WE BL-36 kit for over the last year, I'd actually like to get more than 18mph out of a bike (flat surface, no pedaling). It seems that everyone is going to higher and higher volts to get the speed that they want. The second concern is how loud the motor will be. My BL-36 is very quiet.

Help me save this bike!

--Introduction, skip if you must--

Hello! First, a brief introduction. I've been an avid cyclist for years, but just passed by a store in Eau Claire about a month ago which had electric bike conversion kits. I've never really heard of them or seen them before, but it was very interesting. Being in university and *really* tight on money, but deeming it a good investment (which it is, or was.. used it a lot and would love to continue doing so!) Did some research on the kits (apparently not enough), and ended up purchasing a Crystalyte Roadrunner front drive kit.

Does anyone remember the Enviromental School project that had a small friction rear motor

Does anyone remember the Enviromental School project that had a small friction rear motor, and the fellow wanted to continue riding it to school after it was completed?
I'm try to find the post.

I need a quality 8 speed freewheel for my Bionx PL-350

Any advice?

All I can find that looks like decent quality is 7 speed and not really the gear selection I would like.

I had an 11-32 cassette before putting on the Bionx hub requiring I use a freewheel rather than the cassette.

Help me get my e-bike up to speed ! *tons of pics*

Ok if anyone can tell me what to do to get this thing moving at a decent speed i'd appreciate it

system - 48 volt, 1 48v 14ah,1 48v 7ah
hub motor- 350-500 watt
controller 48v 17a (supposedly
speed- 25-28kmh

Kit Prices - Economy of Scale Question & Front hub to Rear Wheel??

Hello all. I'm a new user who has been reading this forum for the past month and really appreciate all of the good advice and suggestions on building electric bikes. I have been riding a junkyard acquired 18 speed with a refurbished WE BL36 kit for the last year and a half. My next project is to build a more "stealthy" rear hub driven bike. I use my present bike as a daily commuter and plan to use the new one for the same. My general question is why are kit prices so high?

In dire need of a front hub motor kit recommendation...

A friend of mine wants to add an electric motor to his 2005 Trek 820 bicycle http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2008/mountain_hardtail/820/820/ as it will have to be his primary mode of transpertation for a while. I told him I would try to help him find a good kit as I undertsand there are a lot of questionable quality kits out there and I don't want him to get burned on his first purchase.

building an electric pit bike, where to start...... I have the rolling chassis.

Hi

Im glad I found this forum and im so impressed with the projects and vehicles the members here have managed to build. Im no mechanic but im pretty sure with some help i can get my lttle dirt bike running one day.

I just need some pointers as to what i need, motor type, batteries and speed control etc. I really wanna get a pretty decent range for racing about the fields and i feel speeds of 35mph+ will be sufficient for a first project.

Please point me in the right directions I will probably be buying most of the componants from somewhere cheap like ebay.

eLation V2 is now on the Horizon. Here is a sneak preview

Hello All

Well what can I say. eLation V1 (www.elationebikes.com.au) was a mind blowing success. It was not without its faults and limitations though. To be fair to myself ;) I was working with an extremely limited budget and no real idea if this would be a commercially viable winner. A number of compromises had to be made using off the shelf components and parts from other kits. But now that I am comfortable with the concepts and its acceptance I have been focusing more on what i wanted the eLation kit to be at the start.
