$279 Mongoose ebike back in stock at Walmart

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5391437

$279 delivered for an ebike is awfully cheap. There are two (out of two) negative reviews on the Walmart site. Do any of the Mongoose-owning members of the forum have updates on their experiences?

LED Lighting

I'm thinking of converting one of my older kryton lights to 12v LED, and then running a 12v light system off one of my 12v batteries.
Has anyone had any experience doing this and can recommend a particular LED?
Guess I'm considering a Luxeon or similar, or even a 12v car globe, that may fit inside my original housing. (its am older Cateye, EL 400, I think)
Also thinking of a permanently mounted 12v LED rear light as well.

What capacity "D" cells in the Crystalyte Journey pack

I just installed the Journey kit on my bike and although the speed is adequate I know 48 volts will definitely give me what I'm looking for. I just took apart the Crystalyte pack and there are no markings on the D cells. My idea is to add another 10 cell pack in series and charge that pack separately. The controller is rated for 48 volts, so I should be OK with the higher voltage. The specs on the pack describe it as a 36v 8aH pack. I would like to get the same exact cells to keep everything in balance. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Danny

EEStor, Inc. replied to me about a "battery" for my ebike

I emailed EEStor back in Feb 2007:

"Mr. Weir,

I have been anxiously following the wonderously historic "coming out" of EEstor for a while. I have been doing absolutely everything in my power to spread the word that there is a hope for our future in your EESU. I know you are trying out your EESU packs with the Zenn company. My question is when can I expect to be able to buy an EESU pack for my electric bike? I have a 720w hub motor, and I'm currently using six 12v 12ah SLA batteries (which is quite heavy).
