broke down again

Well,

My wife left me. That was a long time ago. I never could figure out why.

Now for the bad news. Bike broke down again.

I have been feeling a little click, thought the chain was bad. 2674.2 miles and the chain is fine. Let's see here, the chain has been shortened, lengthened, shortened, has three removable links in it. #41 chain, "Lotus Chain", Made by Tsubakimoto
Chain Co. in China.

cyclone ebike building help...

hey there all! ok, so i got my cyclone 500w kit! i started to remove the crankset to replace the spindle with the cyclone-specific one and discovered a few things - my bike has a cartridge type bottom bracket. i went to the bike shop to have them remove the cartridge and replace it with a cup and cone system and they called to tell me that the spindle i got from cyclone is not made for my bottom bracket width (i received a 68mm spindle, i need a 73mm spindle apparently).

Fastest Folding Bike For Electric Bike Conversion? Dahon Matrix or Speed Pro/TT with X-Lyte 5303 +72V Cystalite 40A controller?

I am in the progress of buying a folding bike to go to work. I need something fast in terms of speed & MPH. I'm 170lbs & 37 years old. My current candidate would be either the Dahon Matrix or the Dahon Speed Pro & possibly the Speed Pro TT. Which one do you think is faster? Or are there any faster folding bikes? I will be putting the Phoenix motor from ElectricRider.com (X-Lyte 5303) and possibly using the 72V Cystalite 40A controller. Any suggestions if money is no object? :)

Wilderness Energy BD24 Report

I purchased this kit a few months ago and have been quite happy with it thus far. A few notes:

I ordered the 24 volt kit and received the 24 volt controller and charger, but
they sent me three batteries by accident. I would like to 'upgrade' the system to 36 volts or maybe even 48 volts. The brushed motor will take 36 volts for sure (according to WE) but not sure about 48 volts. Any input on third party controllers/chargers/etc is appreciated.

Crystylyte 5302 motor with a 72V 40A controller battery pack needs

:jawdrop:

For a 20 to 40 km range using Crystylyte 5302 rear motor I guess using the dewalt packs what is the easiest and safest configuration?

Please and thanks for all contributions

The reason I ask is that my search has shown that these batteries are being used in a variety of ways including one at a time (switched) as well as p/s configurations bypassing bms and not .

There is not a lot on this new 5000 series motors. In fact I hear a lot of people vote against it because of it's high demands

any thoughts?

EVG ebike 24v upgrade

I have a evg ebike 24v in good condition and I want to upgrade it for a budget of $1000 or so as I really like the frame and styling of the bike. It has a strong frame and powerful brakes and has stood up to some serious rides. Any ideas or feedback would be appreciated on how to get the best for the money. I am hoping to take off the rear pannier and have batteries just in the existing bay and perhaps smaller ones discreetly in a seatpost bag.

Crystalyte 20A(36V-72V) X-5 Brushless Controller Will Work For Brushed Motor Or Not?

Hello ALL! I recently bought an electric bike on ebay (Dash E-Cycle) folding ebike with a 180W to 250W brushed hub motor on the rear. The ebike is quite slow. I can only go up 12MPH without paddling. It comes with 3x12v 12AH SLA batteries is series (36V). I'm in the process to find ways to make it go at least 30MPH without changing the motor by adding another 3 12V SLA batteries for a total of 72V. Do you guys think the Crystalyte 20A(36V-72V) X-5 brushless motor controller [CNTRL-X5-20-] will work on brushed Motor? If so, will I be able to get > 30MPH?

Bottom Bracket Drive E-Bike, keep chain rings?

Hi!
Just doing an elation type conversion, but i am still waiting for my crank freewheel. The supplier said he is supplying two chain rings, so i assume one for the motor, and one for the chain drive.
My query for others who have this type of system, is it advantageous to have only one front chain ring, or should I try and keep my original triple chain ring setup?
Thanks,
Rob
