Want to baffle people with your amazing speed on a mountain bike? Take a look at the Gruber Assist, a unique retrofit for bicycles that adds a fully-functional electric motor on the sly.
Instead of the typical setup requiring you to install the motor on a visible area (which leaves the bike looking a little clunky), the kit has been arranged in tubular form. Both the 22-inch long motor and the drive assembly are integrated inside the bike's frame, making the whole upgrade completely discreet.
The Gruber Assist uses a 200-watt electric motor, delivering 100 watts of power (equivalent to about 60 pedals per minute) to the rear wheel to assist your pedaling. A full charge should net you 45 minutes of no-pedal action, although it can last up to 90 minutes if you work your legs out a bit. It can make room into most standard bike frames with a seat tube diameter of 31.6 mm. A small saddlebag that you can attach to the seat's frame holds the rechargeable battery pack, while the switch controls are mounted right on the handlebar.
If you feel like a small boost can help you during your bike rides, nothing gets it much more stealthily than the Gruber Assist. The downside is the kit costs $2,399, a serious step-up in pricing compared to less-clandestine motor retrofitting you can get for your bicycle elsewhere.
where can buy, body..

Hi Everyone,
Was looking around alibaba today (with much caution as I have seen the numerous horror stories on here!) and came across what seems to be a new part of their site / company - AliExpress (http://wholesale.alibaba.com)
I've searched on here but not really been able to find any details. Has anyone used this service? Basically it lets you buy products direct from the supplier instantly online. It seems to have several benefits over the normal alibaba process as payment is via Alibaba, you can use a credit card for every transaction and payment is held from the supplier until you have confirmed delivery!!
Seems like a lot safer than the normal process as alibaba hold on to the money and you can claim a refund if not happy. Although whether alibaba can be trusted is another matter!!
What does everyone think??

Dear friends:
Something confused me now, my company's logo(my web:www.aliexpress.com/fm-store/904105) looks like the same as a company from canada(www.ebikes.ca).
And I didn't think that is the same logo, it is different: different colors, different words, some customer suggest me to change it
So I don;t know what can i do now.
I need some suggestions here . thank you

I've tested all the wires coming from controller, replaced the fuses, checked the schematics, unplugged the right break, and still can't get power to the motor. The lights work fine and everything else seems to be in order.
What should I check next?

You may be wondering why you should build your own bike when you can go buy an off the shelf electric bike or scooter at your local Wal-Mart or Canadian Tire for a reasonable price. The main reason is these bikes just plain suck. They are underpowered with small motors, low amperage controllers, and weak batteries. This is fine if you just want to cruise slowly at 30kph (18 mph) on a flat road down to the local corner store and back and don't mind pedaling to make it up any hill, but I don't see them as a replacement for a car. You see them pedaling like mad to make it up a small hill or sometimes pushing them because their battery died. Traffic gets backed up behind them on narrow roads because they are moving so slowly and cars cannot pass them.
There are a few companies that do make very nice high quality electric bikes but only if you are willing to spend up to $10000 and most of them are still not as fast as a bike you can build yourself for a fraction of the cost. If you are serious about replacing your car and cutting the umbilical cord to the oil companies you need to build the bike yourself, hand pick good quality components and modify some parts to increase performance and reliability. This way you can build a bike that perfectly matches your specific needs and will last for many years.
You may be thinking why not just build an electric motorcycle instead of using a bicycle as a platform. Well the bicycle has several advantages. In most places you do not have to license or insure an electric bicycle, which can save you thousands of dollars a year alone. You can also ride an electric bicycle on designated bike routes and paths. On a motorcycle you are obligated to obey the same rules as a car so you are stuck waiting in traffic with every other vehicle. A bicycle weighs much less than a motorcycle chassis, which means it will require less power to move it. This translates to a more efficient vehicle that can use a smaller (therefore cheaper) battery pack to travel the same distance. One final advantage of a bicycle is it can be locked up to a bike rack instead of parking in a stall saving you even more money by not purchasing a parking pass.

I have to say that although I’ve seen slew of electric bikes on the market these days, this homemade electric trike is probably the one I would want to get or build at the least.
