That's your best bet for a bargain. Most other sources seem to have a pretty set price (although I'm mostly comparing prices of Perm and the best I've found is $895 at two or three different sites).

The brushless Etek (actually made by Mars Electric) is what I have. I won mine new on eBay from a guy who builds fighting robots (teamdelta.com) and got a good deal on it - more than $100 less than the prices I found on various EV supply websites. He also gave me a good deal on a 36V Sevcon controller for it, and I bought my contactor from his website as well.
After some searching, I even found a mating plug for the weird 5-conductor controller connection to the motor.
Yes, the torque on the brushless motor is a bit lower, but I like the fact that I'll never have to replace any brushes.
I don't know about new, but I got a great place for used motors. Now, I'm just a farmboy earning my degree in engineering, so I don't know any specs on what your needing, but this is a great place to get good motors of just about any type, power, speed, etc...
They test all their motors before putting them up for sale. http://stores.ebay.com/HIGH-QUALITY-AT-LOW-PRICES
I also would highly recommend Dan from teamdelta.com I met him through ebay aswell he is a top knotch seller and really deliveres a low price brushless etek. I think he always has hardly used ones on hand. He propably uses them once to knock the sox off another robot. Or test them on floor buffers something like that. But who cares mine was delivered and runs great with no defects.

If no one can tell me I'll just find one on ebay.

I think I found it. These guys have the Etek in stock for $595.00

They also have the Brushless Etek (and a brushless controller to go with it). I know it has less torque but it is more efficient.

Might as well use eBay as much as you can.
