What price did they quote you for the XM setup? How do they compare in volume and weight to the stock Electier Silicones? When they eventually fail I'd like to upgrade, and reclaim some of the space in the underseat cargo box, if possible.

Re: LiFeBATT is now taking pre-orders

Don,

I could make a pretty accurate guess here that most of the folks hanging out on the forums
here would work for free to see that the world sees an electric bike product that was'nt sold
on the sad basis of profit made and only that. That's the sales model you're used to. I'm here
to inform you that is no longer a viable option especially when oil is at 95 a barrel.

If you want to earn people's trust you're actually going to have to care about what you sell.
I know that's not something american salesmen are good at, not just battery salesmen either. If
you truly care about what you're selling, you'll be the one to buy an electric scooter, put
the batteries you're selling into it and life cycle test it under various conditions yourself. Don't even think about selling anything until you've bought what you're selling and you actually use it.

I could also make a pretty accurate estimate here that most of the folks that visit this site have
recently been let down by the companies selling e-bike products. I'll sum it up here: You're product works the way you say it does or you're company or anyone else's company selling batteries goes out of business so fast it will make your head spin. If your only reason to be in this market is because it's where everyone is going right now or to get rich off commission, you and your company will be utterly disappointed. I'm fed up with green energy scams.

I do like the idea of a domestically mfg. battery much more than one overseas though. But I'm pessimistic about that after what happened with ovonic. If nimh was invented over in japan EV-95
packs would be flooding the market right now, probably as cheap as deep cycle pb packs. The problem
is we've got the people over here controlling the capital whos sole intention is to make profit and not to make the best product. Quantity over quality.

I think it would be a great idea to shoot a video of the batteries you're selling with a 40 amp load on them for an hour or so on your website. Or even better, load it down with 200 amp for 13 seconds like you claim and show everyone that the battery isn't a boat anchor after that. Also, a video of the pack operating in sub-freezing temperatures with a 40 amp load on them. I want to see a video of you or someone else on a 300 pound e-scooter going 35 mph commuting to work about 15 miles. This is what I'm going to do.

I'm so irritated right now, I really don't see why I should have to spend 55 bucks to do a cell test on your battery. It's sad that we can't trust the people selling batteries to be honest with the life cycle data they provide. It really is sad that the customer has to do the testing for these companies. It's either total lies or misleading. You would be better off telling people how the batteries perform in real life even if they only lasted for 200 cycles. At this point I'd be
happy with a pack that got me 100 cycles at a 40 amp load and a daily 60 percent battery drain.

Show me those videos and I'll be interested in what you have to sell. i know somewhere out there, there has to be a good pack comparable to the chevron owned nimh.

regards

Since you bring it up Batman, we will be glad to respond. We also make an electric assist trike called the RAPTOR which is how we originally became involved in LiFePO4. We have successfully launched this product using SLA packs which we wanted to improve - thus our quest into the Lithium battery market. Beginning next year all RAPTORS will be sold ONLY with the LiFePO4 Packs, which we have tested in Taiwan and the overall improvement is outstanding. If you are seeking further long term testing you will just have to wait for that.

We have BATSO testing already completed on our 40138 Cells and the movies are too large to post and very boring - but we can furnish proof with the BATSO labels on our new Hard-Paks in January. See: http://www.extraenergy.org/main.php?language=en&category=press&subcateg=&id=1568

We have performed accelerated life cycle tests as have other companies. If I showed you these volumes you and the rest would just say it's hype by us. Better to talk to a few of the people who have our cells and see what they have to say. I have posted at least one here that you can talk to.

Best,

Don Harmon,

Chuck Johnson here,

I've listened to usatracy now, probably now about 6 months. usatracy would have a hard time calculating the power required to propel a fleas motorcycle around the inside loop of a cheerio.

99% of what usatracy posts as fact, is opinion, his opinion, usually wrong, 99% of the time.

I looked at yesa's site, no warranty listed. I could'nt determine the pricing either.

Don, I,ve read all of your posts on this site, and on endless sphere. Hang in with us, 99% of us here, are very interested in the latest battery technologies.

Oh, I can bash someone, and back it up.

usatracy, comments?

Huh!

It's strange to see how those comments have evolved here.
Seems like the majority of user comments only rely on a first-person-perspective of the author. And I doubt that it is useful the way it was posted here!
It's hard to see anything useful in this long thread.

I hope that I can contribute anything useful by saying that I consider PSI in Taiwan to probably be the manufacturer of the Lifebatt cells. They do have cells with equal specs and
also some of the graphs are equal to what Lifebatt shows on their homepage.
I do know some companys in China and Taiwan which are probably using the same cells and at least at this point usatracy is right. The one usatracy is referring to perhaps is one of them. But from my point of view some Chinese trading companies are doubtful regarding their professionalism or way of representing. But don't get me wrong, I've also had some positive contact with a Chinese company which is building packs out of cells made by PSI and I'm probably going to buy them simply because I believe in the reliability of those great cells.

I hope comments on the initial Lifebatt announcement of this thread are ending close to mine.
