Questions about Razor MX350

Hi all,
I just got a MX350 for my son and he loves it. The only down side is run time and charge time. Does anyone know if there is a quick charger available or possibly a battery upgrade. At least for now, I'm not interested in increasing performance, just increasing the time he can spend on the bike.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Re: Questions about Razor MX350

You can get a better charger. The more amps the charger has the faster it will charge the battery pack.

Charge Time ( Hrs ) = Battery capacity (Ah of the pattery pack) / Charging current (amps of the charger)

You can get chargers for the SLA batteries here

http://www.electricscooterparts.com/chargers.html

(there are other sources as well, you should check around)

Re: Questions about Razor MX350

does it run 3 12V 12AH batteries like the MX500? what is your distance/time range now before the batteries need a charge? Most of these small batteries do not like more than 3 amp chargers, so a fast charge isn't going to be an option. You may be able to fit in some slightly larger capacity batteries. B&B make a 12V 15 AH battery with the same dimensions as the normal 12V12AH ones, and they are higher quality, so you may get 25% more range. If you really want to extend the range, the LIFEpo4 batteries that just became available could at least double your range. They cost more up front, but have a lifespan 3 to 5 times longer. With A 36V 20AH LIFEPO4 pack in the bike, he'd probably get tired riding it before the pack ran down. I know this personal experience!

ok, the stock batteries will fry if you over amp them, they will take more amps if you charge them parallel with a computer car charger(most will peak at 30amps and will not gas your cells). if you use a car charger you will expect to pay $60-$80 on the charger, but it will charge the bike in under a half an hour with those batteries, BUT it will degrade the batteries much faster and you will be replacing them more often. you will need to rewire the bike and take some things out to conect the quick charger right.

if you think I am talking trash, look at my MX350, LoL dont let your kid ride my bike

Just bought a new MX350 for my son, didn't know how to charge the battery , now they are almost dead...I blew it!
I read up a lot on how to properly charge these batteries but I think that charger it comes with is no good...it doesn't shut off when it is done with charging...any body know where to get the BEST charger for this battery...I am going to purchase a new battery from the company soon
