Community Hand Books Library is not working for me

I tried to get into a number of the Handbooks, but always get the message:
Firefox can't find the server at www.visforvoltage.net.

Both when logged in and when not.

Any idea why?

Thanks,

Mr. Mik

I think you're new to V (relatively speaking) so you might find this interesting:
http://visforvoltage.org/forum/2067-moving-visforvoltage.org

visforvoltage.org is our old domain name and there are some leftover links to the old domain. It's been on our list to take care of that but we've been neglectful.

That was interesting, indeed, thanks.

But I am still none the wiser how or if I can get my eyes on the handbooks from the old site somehow. Maybe I missed it and the explanation is in there. Maybe the answer is I can't, and I don't want to hear it ;-))

Has that stuff disappeared into cyberspace?

What I am specifically interested in at the moment is the "Nickel Metal HydrideBatteries NiMH" and the handbook "EV Batteries " which I hope would give me an overview of different EV battery types.

Any idea how to get to them?

Thanks again,

Mr Mik

If you take the URL which failed and substitute .org for .net then it should work. That would be a temporary workaround until the links can be edited.

It would help if you could report to me pages which have problematic links.

I've written a script that fixes it for all comments - there were 1300+ comments using visforvoltage.org and they should all now refer to visforvoltage.org. That's the comments, the main part of each page can still refer to .net.

Thanks for trying to fix it, but now all the handbook links have completely disappeared!

Exactly which page are you trying to access?

HOME >> GENERAL >> V is for Voltage Forums Community Hand Books Library >> and that's where it stops now!
There used to be a link (yesterday) to a page with dozens of handbook links, it's now gone.
Thanks,

Mr. Mik

Re: Community Hand Books Library is not working for me

I found this page in the Google Cache which is probably what you're referring to.

I had deleted that page during the work last night because .. ah .. it's more correct to put links like that into the normal site navigation. Some of those links do appear in the Forum Resources block, which you can turn on via your user account (if it's not already there).
