I am 265lbs. and 6'5". It was pretty windy and my neighborhood does not have a lot of long level roads. These are not "exact" and this is made a little harder because there is a decent damping/time delay on the speed-o of the bike.
My observations:
General rule of thumb: subtract 10 off the speed-o for any indicated speed 35mph or above.
40mph indicated is around 30.5mph GPS
45mph indicated is around 36.2mph GPS
The best I could do at a top speed test in my neighborhood resulted in a 37mph GPS top speed. But I was going into the wind and I am not sure of the flatness of that part of the road.
Hopefully I can find a good calm day when I have more time and take it out for a longer ride on some straight and level roads.
For me on my Z it seems like a reasonable estimation of top speed is 36-38mph.
I'll post more as I get better information.

Thanks for jumping online and providing the results of your speed tests. Given your weight, the wind and the non-flat conditions you mention, getting above 35 mph seems reasonable. Sad to know that the speedometer is off by so much, however.
Like some others on this board, Schenker has informed me that my bike will be shipped out of Seattle on Monday. I dunno how much the delivery time will be affected by Andy Pruna's inspection of the bikes at the Seattle port. Hope to be able to contribute some real world testimony of the bikes operation soon. Until then, I encourage all the Z owners to keep posting your experiences (even if it is just about how EVTA is helping you get your bikes up and running. We, who are still waiting, love hearing your stories.
mlh78750, thanks for doing the testing. I'm not the first to be disappointed with the results. But than, I never really expected a 45 mph top speed.
EVT-World speed specs have been at least somewhat accurate in the past for their EVT 168, and 4000e. The American model had a limiting controller, but came close to 30 mph.
EVT-America it seems doesn't carry the business practices of EVT-World, which I was kind of hoping for. I guess usatracy was right. EVT-America and EVT-World are completely different entities.
Anyway, speed isn't everything. Whats important is if the scooter can meet your needs. Is that fast enough for your commute?

Yea. I ride the scoot on the same path I use when I ride my bike. It is all through neighborhoods with around .25 miles on a 45mph 5 lane road being the fastest road. Most of them are 25-30mph residential streets and I can't run full throttle because I would be passing cars. :)
That is not to say that I would turn down a 45mph top speed if I could get it. I am very happy with the driveability and the feel of the scoot even at high speeds. For now I am really enjoying what I have. I might someday build my own controller and add another battery to get a higher speed.
How fast can you get to 35mph? Can you usually keep up with the cars accelerating away from a stop?

Odometer is accurate on my bike and it is Km as USAtracy suggests. I have no clue on the speedo yet. My initial impression after a 3 mile low speed ride and then a 2 mile low speed ride is good. Full report coming soon.

In general, yes. acceleration to a real 25mph is brisk. From there is slows down a bit, but not too much.
I will of course do further testing, but in the first 10 km, which isn't much, the Odo is spot on. This weekend I expect that I will put about 40 km on the bike (weather permitting) and I'll have a clearer view of its accuracy.
