G1 electric skateboard spare parts---what and where?

I’ve been searching all over the internet for some kind of answer to this question, but can't seem to find one. Maybe this forum will help... especially since there's that guy who played with a G1 a few threads down.

I ordered an electric skateboard off of eBay. The model is apparently the “G-1” or “G1-2000” by the “WTFF Group.” Unfortunately, this company doesn’t have a website—the one they reference in the manual a lot (wtffgroup.com) is defunct. My best guess on what happened here is that this company went out of business, and someone’s dumping all their inventory on eBay for cheap prices.

Anyway, I’m looking mainly for two things: (1) replace the wheels (currently polypropylene, I believe) with something much less noisy, so probably rubber; (2) buy a few extra drive belts since I’ve already broken one and don’t have any more spares. The problem is, given that this board seems very non-standard or at least unpopular, I have no way of telling what parts I should order. So I was hoping that you might be able to help me work out what I should buy, if I can try to give you the right information.

The drive belt should be easy enough. It has “KAINA DRIVINGBELT.COM HTD 384-3M ##” printed on it, in three rows. In the first row, the “##” is 19; in the second, it’s 20; in the third, it’s 21. So I’m confused as to what this means (is it 19, 20, or 21?), and one site I was looking through seemed to not have anything in the the 19–21 range for 384-3M driving belts. So, could you help me figure out what belt I should order, and where I could get it from?

For the wheels, things are more complicated, of course. There are three of them; two “normal” ones in the front and one with ridges in the back connecting it to the motor (I think this is called the “drive wheel”?). The manual that came with the skateboard lists “5 in diameter” as the only information. This site has some pretty good pictures of the wheels, in particular the back wheel. I could also take some measurements, but I’m not sure which ones to take, so hopefully you could help me out there.

Thanks for your time!

The drive should be easy enough, like you said. I have a spare left, still, and that will probably last me until I can make my own board. Though, last time I went out, it was really wet. My board is overvolted, which give me way more power than I had originally. The belt started slipping really bad. Though I fear this may actually the drive cog.

Anyway, Ignore the 19, 20, 21 thing. I think it has something to do with checking where the belt is cut from the big tube (I think that's how they make these). Mine says 10, 11, 12, 13.

They do make this belt (...kaina-drivingbelt.com/english/?nav=2&ig=1&dt=htd-3m [scroll down in the list]), but I'm not sure where you can actually get it.

The wheels are are a bastard to take care of, though. I feel your pain.

For the front wheels, pretty much whatever will fit on the axle. As long as they give enough ground clearance and aren't too wide, any wheel with the same bearing model will work. The rear one is a problem, though. It's not a very common part, if it's made for anything else at all. However, I did something to my back wheel that you may want to try. I stuck the whole board in a vice and stuck the button on. Then, I used a big automotive screwdriver to make a double-ridged pattern on the wheel (looks kinda like two wheels stuck together). This seems to smooth out the ride a bit. Most of the vibration comes from the front tires now. Replacing the rear wheel might be impossible, since there are no markings on it that tell its make or model number. I've looked around and haven't found anything suitable myself.

Really, it seems as if the only boards that are relatively easy to find parts for are the Exkate and E-Glides. Those cost a fair bit more, though.

How much do you ride this thing anyway? Mine goes much faster than stock and I have yet to break a drive belt.

I found this site for rubber Goped wheels.

They are 6" diameter, but should still fit on the front wheels of the G1.

EDIT : These are probably too wide for the G1.

Also, you can just replace the rubber for $13.99, if you already have a GoPed wheel.

Re: G1 electric skateboard spare parts---what and where?

Well, the belt on my G1 finally failed.

I think it was becoz I was overvolted to 36 volts.

there was a screeching sound on take off,
probably too much torque.

Then nylon fibers of the belt come loose,
and rubber is worn off, and ribs broken on the belt.

I still have 1 belt left,
but need to find some replacements.

I think beltless, direct drive skateboard or hub motor board,
will be much better.

I do like the G1, it's a great board.

However front spring is way too stiff, and doesnt do much.

I probably would replace it with something rubber or softer if I could.

I also have a G1, Bought it off Ebay used for $40.00, not running, I took off the board and cut it in half, and extended length by 10" put 3 12v 12ah batteries and a 36v speed controller and added a back brake off a Razor scooter, put a Woody longboard on for the deck, So I have a hand controller for speed and break, Works great, but just stripped belt, I have one more, then I am out, So I will be looking one, If I find one I will post Where I find it...P4290085.JPGboard 1.JPG
