POWER METER
I have a led bar.1cm wide 35 cm long.With 15 led lights on it.Realy nice looking.What I want to do is ,to build a power meter.Like the kind you find on car booster packs.Push a buton ,And depending how many lights lihgt up,tells you how much power you got.1 light dead, 15 lights full.This will be based on a 72 volt pack.
Power converter
I need to convert 72 volts to 30 volts (give or take 4 volts up or down) for my cooling fans . 2 so far, equel 24 volts .2 amp.Will go to 3 fans if it makes it cheaper or easyer.Dont want to use resiters.

The power meter could probably done pretty easily with some Zeners (for ballpark range) and regular diodes (for fine tuning).
That's assuming lead or something, of course. Lithiums don't drop near as much until they're almost dead. A road amp-hour meter (like a Watts Up or Cycle Analyst) would be better.
You could just use a DC-DC converter to get 30V. You're using brushless computer fans? They don't use much power, so you don't have to get a big expensive one.

Thats great,Where would I find one of these dc -dc converters?
Im interested in the zener diodes.(if im right ,it allows curent one way ,until it gets enuf power. then opens the other way)?
What is the lowest voltage a 72 volt pack can drop , before I charge it.

Can you give me a little more info on wiring it. Or know of a sight that could explain it enuf for me to build it?

I found a converter, in put 30-76 volts, out 30 volts.
My problem is that a fully charged pack is more than 76 volts.
Do you think I will have a problem with that?
Also what is the true voltage of a charged pack?
