Thanks for the link, but the guy at e-volks.com wants $5500 for the electric conversion kit, and that doesnt even include the batteries. Thats alot more than my car is worth, any suggestions for somthing cheaper? I would even consider somthing used.

$5500 for a complete kit isn't too bad. To find used parts, you need to keep looking, once you figure out what you need. A car with an automatic transmission isn't the best choice to start. Have you read the various books available on building/converting electric cars? One to start with is Convert It! by Michael Brown. That should be a first step.

I agree with what WisJim said - $5500 isn't a bad price and an auto is going to represent a problem. If the motor and transmission are serviceable I'd sell them and locate a manual transmission for your Geo.

If you want to shop around then a kit from one of these folks acts as a good shopping list as you consider obtaining the parts used off of e-bay etc.

If you want to build the cheapest conversion possible then surf http://www.evalbum.com - you'll find some true low cost marvels over there. You can also search for your car: http://www.evalbum.com/type/GEO/

Good luck!
