ZwheelZ

Hmm, this just came across one of the mailing lists I'm on .. It's a three wheel reverse trike EV motorcycle that looks really cool. They don't have much in the way of spec's but they've made some good decisions it appears so far. And it seems this will be available for sale later this year.

Reverse Trike == three wheel motorcycle, two wheels in front, one in back.

I think the design is very good.. the frame is built around a battery box and the seats sit on top of the battery box. It appears the battery box has ample room for a good quantity of batteries. Unfortunately the video says "lead acid".

One thing I think it lacks is a fairing. The design as it is simply is not aerodynamic.

Re: ZwheelZ

They are in San Antonio. I met with them and looked at the vehicle at Maker Faire in Austin late last year. The vehicle is technically a motorcycle, but it is bigger than quite a few cars. When I saw it last year it looked similar to what is in the video. I talked to the owner and he stated they have plans for body panels, roll bars, and a fiberglass or carbon dash. Right now they are modeling the dash using wood because it is easier to work until they get the final design. The motor and controller looked great. The chassis is the battery carrier and he did have SLA in it. However, they stated that they wanted everything to be modular so that you could do quite a few different configurations.

I believe the plan was to sell it as a kit car with a further plan to provide "build clinics" where you could assemble your kit on site over a weekend/week or whatever. I check the web site every few days hoping for an update.

Re: ZwheelZ

Thanks, I found it. I'm just not use to looking at the bottom of the post for links. Normally they are in the body of the text. For anyone else who can't find it the web site is ZwheelZ.
