Up Go-hub to 48v. What do I need?

Hey everybody,

I just purchased a Go-hub kit from largoscooters. I got the stock 36v setup. I am waiting for shipment, but I'm scared the power won't be enough once I get it. Danny Doris (the owner) told me the 48v setup would produce more power but less range. My main concern is range, but I am used to riding faster, having just sold my Tidalforce.

If I decide to upgrade, what more do I need. I know at least another battery and charger. Do I need a new controller? Motor?

thanks for the help.

The motor will be fine.

Is the controller potted (contained in black plasticky goop)? If it isn't take it apart and look at the capacitors and FETs. The capacitors are big and cylindrical. If they are rated for 63V, then look at the FETs. They'll be attached or screwed to a heatsink, and have three legs coming from them. There will be a part number on them. Look it up on Google. If they are rated for 60V or higher as well as the caps, then you should be able to run 48V through it without fear of it blowing.

Hi Paul,

I don't know why this post is necessary Paul. I explained in detail to you on the phone before you placed your order all of the components that came with the 48V go-hub kit.
I explained the differences in detail between the 36v and 48V speed and range and performance.
I told you that the 48V kit came with an additional battery, 48V charger and controller and throttle. After all of this I can not see why it would be necessary to ask the questions that I had answered again here on this forum.
I am the creator, importer and distributor of the go-hub kits so you got your advise right from the source.
