Newbie-Cyclone USA in business?

After lurking around this great site for several weeks I decided to go with the Cyclone 500W kit. I placed an order through Cyclone-usa.com. I then got a confirmation number in an email back from them in the subject line, but nothing in the body of the email telling me when it would be shipped, carrier, "thanks for your order", nothing at all.

I started looking around and found a post somewhere saying that Cyclone USA is out of business..

If anyone has any further insight, please let me know. I just need to know if in fact they are out of business, do the orders go directly to Taiwan? Anyone have a good contact phone number?

Thanks-
Mark

Cyclone USA is indeed in business. I just spoke with Jim last night and received a 360W motor from him yesterday. When I order, I always get a confirmation in my email. Cyclone-USA ships everything out US Postal Priority mail. His phone number is 1-909-936-5554.

Re: Newbie-Cyclone USA in business?

Thanks Bill-

I did receive my motor kit from them yesterday, and promptly as well. I just got a little nervous because I did have a question about it before and during my purchase, and I still have not gotten an email response. All of the phone numbers that I could find were disconnected. My browser gave me some kind of message when I did make my order about the certificate was not verified or something and that "you could be sending money to someone posing to be Cyclone USA". As I mentioned before, after making the purchase, the only confirmation that I got was an email with an order confirmation number in the subject line and nothing else in the body of the email. With all of these things combined, I filed a dispute with Paypal. Within one hour Cyclone USA responded to the dispute and gave me the tracking number through Paypal. Had anyone simply responded to any of my emails, even to say "we are too busy to answer any questions at this time", I would have avoided taking that action.

When I received it, the sprocket on the motor had a bent and cracked tooth. I tried emailing again, and have not heard back from them.

I don't want to bash anyone, I have read all sorts of good things said about Jim on the forums, I guess that my experience has been the exception and not the rule.

I have had much better luck dealing with Paco from Cyclone Taiwan. I highly doubt that this will be the last Ebike that I build, and it would be nice to deal with someone who does not have to ship to me from outside the country. I have not written off Cyclone USA, but I do hope that we could communicate better in the future.

I am still waiting to hear back from them...

Thanks again for the phone number, I will try it today-

Well, you know, Jim gets all HIS stuff shipped from cyclone taiwan. To me it seems just as good to get it shipped direct from country of manufacture.

Re: Newbie-Cyclone USA in business?

Jim emailed me today to request photos of the damage, and he will send a replacement.

With that we will be completely square. Jim is fulfilling the order, and I appreciate it. We can all move forward. Hopefully at around 25MPH!

I really hate that this was the first posts that I have made to this board. I am very excited about the build, and the amazing resource this site is for me.
