Kollmorgen undervoltage cutoff? and how to bypass it?

i just ordered a Kollmorgen's 400 Watt Brushless High Torque Motor from

http://www.thesuperkids.com/hi2hicumo.html and i was wondering if they have an low battery/undervoltage cutoff because i would like to be able to run it from a 12 volt battery or even from ni cad batteries.

ni cads have a memory issue and need to be drained to practically 0 to make them take a charge.

i am willing to suffer memory for a cheaper prices.

if they do have an undervoltage cutoff then how do i bypass it?

Yes, it has a low voltage cutout. I believe it is around 17v.
There is no way to easily bypass it as the controller is fully potted in epoxy.

You could possibly rewire the motor for an external controller, but then it would be better to buy a motor that is already set up for this. I have seen these motors in the past for around $20 on eBay.

i re checked another post regarding the same motor since another user wondered what fails in the motors

http://visforvoltage.org/forum/2534-24volt-400watt-kollmorgan-internal-controller

it looks like the undervoltage lockout is 10 volts that is built into the servo driver chip and i am not sure if maybe kollmorgen added extra parts to set the undervoltage cutoff higher.
