500 miles on the Z-20

I just passed 500 actual miles (reading from my trip meter, not the reading the scooter) today on my way home from work. Was driving in 92 degree weather and didnt notice much if any decrease in top speed from the heat. Once I got the controller replaced its been going good. Ive had a few issues, but nothing too bad.

500 miles puts me at about 40-50 gallons of gas saved.

Seriously?

You drive a car that gets 11 MPG (that would be if you saved 45 bucks thus far..)????

Well then, welcome to this forum and congratulations on saving lots of dough (and giving the Hummer a break ;-) -- or whatever the "thirsty" brand may be !)

I'm actually jealous, since I put about 1600 miles on my little E-MAX since July 2006 and saved only about $ 320.- thus far....

50 gallons x $4.00/gal = $200 saved.

Seriously.

Its a beautiful 1989 chevy suburban with dual ACs. I dont get on the highway to avoid stop-n-go traffic. So I stop-n-go at several stop lights on my commute into work. I think it gets better MPG on the highway. I figure at my current(pun!!!) rate I will pay for the bike in about 3-4 years. That assumes that gas prices stay at about $4 and my batteries last at least 3 years. Will have to see on the batteries... Texas heat can be brutal on batteries.

Well then,

let's hope your batteries last longer than mine....

The 8 E-MAX silicone buddies there are pretty darn "soft" by now - but it doesn't matter to me. I just keep going even if I need to recharge every day!

If the drivers around me aren't too nutty, I actually have much more fun just living - people nowadays ask about the scooter all the time - and are astounded when I tell them it's an EV. 1 cent / mile - can't beat that!

Still, I'm a lonely EV dude here in Pasadena, CA., only 1 golfcart I've seen thus far (and several RAV 4 EV's on the freeway - that one was our chance, b.t.w.
This changeover is taking to long, if you ask me (--glad you didn't ;-))

Had we saturated our streets with that Toyota EV instead of the SUV's, we'd be completely off middleeastern oil. (By my humble math at least)

Hope this turns out an enjoyable journey for you!

Not all alone, Groove! I live here in Arcadia, had my Skeuter Condor since last Sept. and just bumped into a guy in Sierra Madre today who owns two of them beauties.
