Battery question for you guys.
Sorry if the question is basic, but I dont have a lot of battery experience.
I have about 30 1.2Volt 2000mAH AA batteries and chargers.
Can I rig these up in Series to power my 24 Volt 250 WATT skateboard ?
For example if I use 20 batteries in series
I should get 24 volts.
But is 2000 mAh per battery enough ?
What is my total Ah ? 2000 X 20 = 40,000 mAh ?
Will this work ?
Thanks for any help
You could, but you wouldn't get very far. Series adds up the voltage; parallel adds up the Ah. So you'd have a 24V 2Ah pack. This would get you a little less range than the 4.5Ah SLAs currently in the board.
If you get another ten, you can have two parallel 24V strings for 24V 4Ah, which should go maybe 30% or so farther than the stock batteries. You'd need two separate chargers though, because you can't charge nickel chemistries in parallel without problems.

Thanks Again Link,
I doubt that 40 AA's would even fit in the space in the skateboard.
My next question, then would be to get a 24 volt or 36 volt Dewalt LiOn pack,
but these are almost $200.00.
For that kind of money, I would rather save it and buy a better board.
