Replacement Batteries for EMAX ??? >>>>>>>

We all know that the EMAX scooter has a strange arrangement for the battery setup, stock at 48volts, it uses 2 banks of 4 x 17-22Ah SLA batteries and if you are running the 60volt conversion it uses 2 banks of 5 x 17-22Ah SLA's. Looking thru ThunderSky's site I saw these Lithium batteries that look like they are a DIRECT fit for the stock SLA's. Does anyone have any actual experience with these Lithium batteries ?? Let me know what you all think as I would like to do a 60volt conversion and my stock SLA batteries are down to about a 10mile range now. God Bless :)

Such a 12 volt drop-in battery looks tempting, but it is probably just conceptual vaporware at this point - and how do you assure cell balance for the four individual cells in such a battery?

I converted my e-max to LifePO4's using the Thundersky 40AH single cells (LFP40AHA). I'm working on an article now.

Please keep me updated on it PJD as I would like to replace the original silicone batteries with something better and convert to a 60volt system. God Bless :)

what experience has anyone with the TS 12 volt 20 Ah packs? They look very convenient but do they have BMS built in or ?? The TS data sheet doesn't really show much except that they claim a 200 A discharge capability!! and a 1 hour charge rate. I find both of these unlikely for LiFePO4 pack but I would love to be wrong.. I am trying to find a source for 50 volt 20 A packs for my new ecar with 8 packs in series giving 400 volts, av power 4 Kw peak pwr 40 kW. Ideas welcomed.

building the future... one crappy Lipo at a time!!
