Adapting battery to Crystalyte motor/controller

I want to buy a 3620 Crystalyte motor and controller but to save money, I plan to buy one of the Ping 36v LiFePO4 batteries from Ebay. It sounds like some folks here have experience adapting such batteries to the crystalyte system. My question is can anyone tell me what sorts of connertors or other accessories I need to buy to adapt they Ping battery to the Crystalyte controller? My guess is that I will need to buy a connector, some type of fuse system, and a rack bag to put everything in. Any advice would be appreciated. Links to suppliers of any recommended connectors would be greatly appreciated.

Since Ping's batteries come with a BMS, all you really need is some new connectors. Anderson PowerPoles are the connector of choice for many here.

So, does the Crystalyte controller come with a Powerpole connector, or do I just cut off their connector and replace with the powerpole? Also, any tips on good ways to add an inline 20A fuse would be appreciated. I assume the fuse should be placed before the input to the controller.

Just hunt down the same connector as the crystalite controller has, likey an anderson. Lots of connectors avaliable at scooter parts web retailers, or just have the motor supplier add some to the order. I have my ping in a sweet little metal toolbox that fits my rear rack perfect. Kept it nice and safe even when I crashed. My ping came with a male and female connector for the charger, so that was all set to hook up the other end to the battery.

Yeah, you can just cut it off if it doesn't have Andersons on it. I think the ones from ebikes.ca already have them attached, though.

You could probably find a matching connector from somewhere like electricscooterparts, but I like to have all my stuff interchangeable.

Anderson connectors here...

Make sure you have a REALLY powerful soldering iron, torch or a hydraulic press with the crimping attachment because they are big and take a lot of heat to get a good connection.

I don't even crimp them, myself. Heating the contact on the wire and filling it with solder is way easier and should be just as strong.

I use this Weller thing. Pretty small, adjustable, stands up on its own, and like $20 from Frys. Love it.
